5 Simple Tips to Look Fresh & Radiant While Traveling

5 Simple Tips to Look Fresh & Radiant While Traveling

Traveling is a wonderful experience that allows us to explore new places, meet new people, and create unforgettable memories. But let's face it, traveling can be tiring and we all want to look our best in our traveling pics, at least I do. Long flights, overnight buses, and crowded trains can leave you feeling exhausted and looking far from your best. And this is why I decided to give you my best tips on how to look fresh and fabulous while on the go!

‏‏‎ ‎

1. Drink plenty of water

Staying hydrated is key to looking and feeling fresh and energized while traveling. Make sure you drink plenty of water throughout your journey, especially if you're flying.

Avoid alcohol and caffeinated beverages, which can dehydrate you and leave you feeling tired and sluggish.

I always bring a refillable water bottle with me on my travels, depending on where you are going you can refill it on water fountains and avoid paying for the expensive bottled water.

Pro tip: be careful with metal bottles on planes as the pressure can break them so remember to open them as you are landing. (do not ask me how I know, just trust me)

2. Get enough sleep

Getting enough rest is essential for looking and feeling fresh when traveling. Try to get as much sleep as possible, even if it means taking a nap on the plane or train. I am a specialist on the matter, and over the years I have developed that capacity to sleep in the weirdest position and places. For maximum comfort, I would recommend investing in a good quality travel pillow and bringing earplugs and an eye mask if you feel you need some help with noise and light. Those will help you sleep better and wake up feeling refreshed.

If you're traveling overnight, consider booking a sleeper cabin on a train or a red-eye flight to maximize your sleeping time. And if you have a long layover, I recommend to look into the capsule hotels in airports, they are fantastic for a snooze but also a great experience to talk about later.

3. Pack light and smart

One of the best ways to stay fresh and comfortable while traveling is to pack light and smart. When packing for a trip, it's important to choose versatile clothing items that can be easily mixed and matched. Fabrics like cotton and linen are breathable and comfortable for travel, and wrinkle-resistant fabrics like polyester blends can help you stay looking fresh throughout your journey. To avoid overpacking stick to a neutral color palette and choose items that can be dressed up or down.

Comfortable shoes that are also stylish, remember that in most cases you will be out and about all the time and it is important that you can walk around without hurting your feet.

Pack a small bag of travel-sized toiletries that include items like face wipes, dry shampoo, and/or hand sanitizer, so you can freshen up on the go. That can help you feel comfortable if you are going to a restaurant after a full day of exploring.

I would invest in a good quality travel backpack or suitcase that is easy to carry and maneuver and where you have some room for any purchases you might pick up along the way.

4. Dress comfortably, but stylish

Just because you're on a budget doesn't mean you can't look stylish while traveling. it's important to choose comfortable clothing that allows you to move around freely but also makes you feel good about yourself.

Choose clothing made from breathable fabrics like cotton, linen, or bamboo, and avoid tight or restrictive clothing that can make you feel uncomfortable. Opt for comfortable shoes that are also stylish, such as sneakers or sandals, and bring along a lightweight jacket or scarf to keep you warm and add some style to your outfit. Accessories like hats, sunglasses, and scarves can also add some flair to your look and help you stay cool in the sun.

5. Use makeup sparingly

While makeup can help you look fresh and put together, When traveling, it's important to keep your makeup routine simple and minimal. Choose lightweight, hydrating products like a tinted moisturizer or BB cream, and avoid heavy foundations that can clog your pores and make your skin feel suffocated. And If you're traveling to a sunny destination, don't forget to apply sunscreen regularly to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. I have to say that I use it everywhere I go regardless of the sun but I won’t force you into my weird obsessions :)

My personal makeup routine when traveling is super simple: BB cream, hydrating lip balm, a touch of mascara and blush to add some color to my face. I want to look nice and healthy for the pictures but natural and free to go all day without much retouching.

‏‏‎ ‎

In conclusion, looking fresh when traveling is totally possible with a few simple tips and tricks. Remember to pack light, stay hydrated, get enough rest, dress comfortably and stylishly and as the last touch keep a positive attitude, remember you are living your best life!
